December Guest Author Kate Jacobs: A Sequel to THE FRIDAY NIGHT KNITTING CLUB
December 14th, 2008
Hello! How are you? I hope you’re doing well. Just wanted to let you know that my new novel, Knit Two is on sale now. Knit Two is the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club and the story is set about five years after the ending of the first novel. So all of the characters are older but only some of them are wiser! And everyone is back: Dakota, Catherine, Darwin, Lucie, KC, Peri, and Anita. All to return to the Walker and Daughter Knitting shop to share the joys and frustrations of life, love, and knitting. Writing this book and being able to spend time with these characters again was wonderful. It was important to me to create a novel that balances the emotion from the first novel while also honoring all that happened to the characters. Above all, what I wanted to create is a fun-to-read, soothing, upbeat story. And Knit Two is all about hope and the strength of friendship.
Speaking of, I feel as though I am getting to know so many new friends as I call in to your book clubs! Being part of your discussions is great fun, and I look forward to continuing to talk to so many of you about FNKC, about Comfort Food, and about Knit Two in the coming months. (Just go to my website and shoot me an email if you’d like me to telephone your group.) Sometimes, readers have even said they wish I would come to their house during club meetings. So…I am running a giveaway on my website in which three clubs in North America can win an in-person book club visit in 2009 to chat about Knit Two. Go to the News page at katejacobs.com to read the official rules and to sign up. More soon! Can’t wait to see you on my next book tour – and I look forward to sharing Knit Two with all of you! All best wishes, Kate
