Program Details:

Authors and book clubs are constantly seeking ways to connect. Choose a Book - Invite an Author gives authors a chance to promote their books to book discussion groups across the United States, as well as the opportunity to connect with book clubs around the country by telephone. Authors accepted into the Choose a Book - Invite an Author program, have their name, contact information, and a brief description of up to three of their books posted on our online directory of participating authors. Book club members contact authors directly to arrange a meeting time.We also announce authors’ participation in newsletters sent to our 4,000 subscribers who are dedicated members of book clubs and reading groups. Choose a Book - Invite an Author includes fiction and non-fiction, as well as children’s and young adult titles.


Fees:

The annual fee for inclusion in the Choose a Book - Invite an Author program is
$95.00 for one year, or $145.00 for two years, payable through our secure online processing system or by check.

Authors who renew their membership after one year, and who refer at least one other author to the program, will receive a 20% discount on their membership renewal.

Publishers: please ask us about discounts for multiple authors.

Invite an Author is a free service for book club members. Authors participating in the Invite an Author program agree not to charge book club members a fee for speaking with them.

Display Advertising

As of September, 2008 display advertising is available on the Invite an Author directory pages. The following rates are for display ads placed on four pages of the directory:

How to Enroll:

1. Complete the online application form with information for up to three books you’d like to feature. Please note that books are selected based on their compatibility with the interests of our book club audience. Self-published authors or authors published through POD presses are not accepted.


2. Once we’ve approved your application, you'll receive billing options, and an electronic form to complete for your directory listing.


3. Complete the online directory form. We'll post your listing within ten days of receipt of payment.
